Requesting 60 ETH in retroactive funding for building the Omega onchain gaming console. Omega is a new protocol where Zora editions serve as entry tokens.
We will also launch Omega DAO, along with nOmega DAO, as stewards of this new hyperstructure. And finally, we’ll drop a new Noun 401 open edition that’s required to play our debut game cartridge – Forgeries : ALL of them are FAKE except ONE.
▶️ Watch a short video (2:20) from our DEF Demo.
Using games to onboard new members into Builder DAO can effectively introduce complex concepts, incentivize participation, and increase commitment. Forgeries will onboard hundreds of new participants into the Builder DAO ecosystem. These new members will be extremely beneficial to the DAO’s goals in the long term by building, proposing and bidding.
Our team comprises Gami (nouner, Gnars and Art Haus founder), Emre (engineer and 0xchain.art founder), Iain (engineer at Zora and NounsConnect), and Jordan (engineer and designer).
We’re committed to fostering a community around onchain multiplayer games for onboarding more builders, artists, collectors, NFT projects and DAOs to the Nouns and Builder ecosystems.

Omega is at its core a trustless and verifiably random raffle drawing protocol that leverages Chainlink VRF. Based on a factory pattern, we have made a contract that allows any individual, multisig, or DAO to customize and stamp out their own hyperstructure.
Zora editions serve as entry tickets and a merkle root layer enables a new design space for multiplayer onchain gaming experiences. Following the hyperstructure concept, Omega is essentially a gaming console deployed on Ethereum that can run for free and forever, without maintenance, interruption or intermediaries.

Forgeries is our debut game cartridge. Inspired by MSCHF’s Museum of Forgeries (thread), it’s a combined game of skill and chance where counterfeit copies of Noun 401 are minted as editions. Mixed at random with the original, players authenticate their forgeries to uncover whether theirs are fake, or the real deal. We’ve created an interface inspired by 80s computing magazines and Japanese gameshows, from which one lucky player will withdraw the actual Noun 401 through a fun and attractive experience.

Code4rena public audit contest is complete with a prize pool of 36,500 USDC (plus admin) distributed to 77 eligible auditors who provided thorough scrutiny and attention to detail. Since then we’ve implemented patches for all vulnerabilities found, made various optimisations and have prepared the protocol for mainnet. All of the code is open source and can be found in this GitHub repository.

Omega DAO is being established to steward Omega and associated releases in the best interest of longevity, scalability and accessibility. In the Greek numeric system, Omega has the value of 800, so we’re reflecting that in our auction configuration:
nOmega DAO is what we’re code naming an initiative to incentivise the formation of new communities around the losing editions by deploying a second DAO from the first. Omega is commonly used in English to mean “the last of any series” and since that points to the winners, we’re including the losers in our Omega DAO token allocation:

A new Noun 401 open edition will replace our original limited edition of 1000 and we’ve given special consideration to our OG minters. After the presale and public sale, they will be airdropped new editions to maintain their original % of supply, or 2 for 1, whichever is greater.

ℹ️ In case of any delays, we decided against making this proposal a "droposal."
60 ETH in retroactive funding helps us cover the costs of building the Omega hyperstructure, creating the Forgeries game and frontend, developing a factory interface to the protocol, and for auditing the codebase.
Builders benefit from the Omega DAO token allocation (5% forever), open edition NFT revenue (5% of proceeds), and an airdrop of Forgeries editions (5% of supply). The 95.32 ETH spent acquiring Noun 401 will be recovered from mint proceeds and anything over that amount will be used to seed our treasury in support of people interested in building on the protocol.
Our vision is a multiplayer future for crypto and we firmly believe NFTs are the building blocks. By providing public goods infrastructure to the community we can empower developers, artists, collectors, projects and DAOs to unlock a new design space for creative onchain experiences. Shortly after the execution of this proposal, we will have a UI available at omega.build to interface seamlessly with our protocol, so anyone, include Builder DAO itself, can deploy their own Omega contracts. Here are a few examples to inspire some ideas in the meantime:
We want to keep building on top of Omega and deploy new games with the Builder DAO community. For new releases, we are considering more fun ways to engage collectors and participants with games incorporating unique auction mechanics, tournaments like Squid Game, and so on. Here are some of the benefits of the Omega protocol:
Thank you Builders for your time taken to consider our proposal and to vote.
Gami, Emre, Iain and Jordan.
