Description

Overview: A 3-month long run of X spaces and community management, geared toward onboarding new people to the Farcaster ecosystem, prioritizing creators. Spaces will run weekly on Tuesday at 1PM ET. (Time selected to cater to primary audiences which are US, UK, and West Africa.) Spaces will feature guests, ranging from FC experts to builders outside of FC who have made a significant impact in the digital creator economy.

Context: Farcaster has been a major unlock for web3 native developers, DAOs, and founders, though there is room to grow outside of these niches. There are not robust measures in place to draw new people into the ecosystem, and there is unclear direction once people are onboarded.

Solution: X Spaces provide a way to reach outside of the currently existing niches and onboard new people to Farcaster. Users will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers real-time. Users will be invited to the /creator channel and dc group chat for help as they are navigating the platform.

Focusing onboarding efforts on creators will incentivize activity on the superchain. We’ve recently seen large NFT collections like swatches by Jvmi drive major transaction spikes onchain, mostly driven by the Farcaster community. We’ve seen creator-focused tokens like $Higher, $Crash, and $Enjoy use Farcaster to write new narratives. Increased onchain activity will create a positive-sum cycle, driving more users and creators to the ecosystem.

Target Audience:

  • High-value creators, builders, and artists who are native to Twitter.
  • Some interest/knowledge of web3
  • Culturally diverse

Case-Study: 1st Farcaster X space on 04/01/24 has drawn 530+ listeners since hosted, & continues to grow. Onboarded 275+ to /creator channel & given out over $3,000 USD in degen to creators since launch.

Value Alignment: This proposal is closely aligned with Purple DAO’s goal of proliferating & expanding the Farcaster Protocol. Since the first space, I’ve had an overwhelming amount of inbound communication about Farcaster. I’ve been offering help as often as I can, purely because I see the mutual benefit that onboarding creators will have, but I haven’t been able to keep up with the amount of contact I am receiving while continuing on my work responsibilities. Funding will allow me to dedicate more time and focus toward onboarding efforts and developing an effective funnel from X to FC.

Accountability: This job will span 3 months. A minimum of 300 people will be onboarded to Farcaster in this time. Following the 530 listeners who attended the first space, this would be an achievable 5% conversion rate over a 3 month span. Using the /creator channel as a measure of growth, we plan to grow from 275 users to 575. All members of Purple DAO are invited to join the weekly spaces, I will allocate time each week to provide progress updates and answer questions, I am a proponent of the “build in public” ideology and I think it will be beneficial for new users to to hear from active members of the FC community and Purple DAO.

Ask:

Host: 2 ETH ( .166 ETH per space)

Guests: .32 ETH ( .04 ETH per space) [guests only on 8 out of 12 spaces]

Gifted Warps: .10 ETH (roughly 2500 warps per space)

  • Will gift 2500 warps to a guest or audience member each week, the goal is to incentivize high-value builders to curate channels that will benefit the FC ecosystem, and to create a hook that will draw more users to the space.

Total: 2.42 ETH to cover 3 months of weekly spaces (12 spaces in total)

(Treasury Impact = 8.24%)
