Onboarding athletes is not about repairing their existing equipment and a few stickers, I'm sorry. While we are web3 I wouldn't say we need to onboard to web3, we need to onboard to gnars/extreme athletes community. I'm not sure my advice but proposals need to give back more.

$7,980 of the $9,980 is going towards fixing 1 jetski, buying brand new camera equipment, and compensating 1 person. HowDarylRolls was looking into submitting a similar prop a few months back to get his sailboat motor fixed for travelling (he was travelling around on his sailboat at the time) and a new laptop to edit his longboarding videos but it was determined that while yes, these things are incredibly unfortunate, it's not entirely what gnars is looking to fund. after some thought, i think a jetski repair, in this specific case, could be seen as something similar to refurbishing a skatepark so i am for that. just not really into the dao buying $3,000 camera equipment for someone. I think this could lead to more props with people asking to buy equipment for them. i would be all for a prop with more videos, free surf/bodyboarding lessons for kids maybe, and more community workshops, does not need to be gnars/crypto onboarding directly but could be just something fun surf/bodyboard related for people to enjoy that is funded by gnars. I am by no means against this prop, just the 1 part of the prop, so does not feel like enough to give 80+ against votes on

While I tend to agree with Brett that I don’t think buying camera equipment is a precedent we should set, I think that if there were enough return to the DAO (content, proliferation/onboarding, etc) then I’d be willing to overlook that. Shifting perspective a bit, it’s essentially compensation for the sponsorship but the team is being upfront about how they will allocate sponsorship funds during the period. It doesn't really compare to refurbishing a skatepark imo as a skatepark is public and can be used by other people, this equipment would be privately owned and not a public good by any means. With that being said, I feel that 1 reel per month and 1 video per quarter for a year is not enough given the ask, and I think there should be more detail provided regarding the workshops which account for nearly 8% of the ask but there is zero information provided on when, where, how many etc. With more content produced and details on workshops/lessons as Brett mentioned, I think this would have a much better chance of passing.

This is a big price tag for the amount of content creation/community engagement being committed to. Why is more than 20% going towards compensation for one individual?

yo. we have to be equalitarian with budget and proposals, but it's impossible for me to vote against this 100% Gnar surfer. I liked what Brett said in the vote, interesting view. I vote in favor because I know a little about the reality of Bernado and NXF. A group of very psy bodyboarders, I've never seen anything like it. The point is, they map these waves, and give their lives to build a scene around them for years, and today it has global repercussion and global recognition... however they are having difficulty continuing this movement because they have no sponsorship, jet ski fucked up situation really dangerous in the ocean. I vote in favor of this proposal because the situation is precarious and the movement is fucking true. If the proposal passes, I would love to see a video of you saying that GnarsDAO helped to renovate the jetski and resources enabling the continuation of this dream and construction of this journey.
