#### Intro

Aloha guys, I am [Luiz Hadad](https://www.instagram.com/luizhadad), Brazilian, 34 years old, surfing since I was a little kid and have been a [Gnars surfer since September 2022](https://snapshot.org/#/gnars.eth/proposal/0x4b0fef8be71a1beae3d7d2b31d44ee2df2ca539b36aa66a8221b346f6a713c4a).

I've been in the blockchain space since 2017, working as a community builder in different projects, such as [Muda Outras Economias](https://www.muda-oe.com/) and [SurfHive](https://www.peakd.com/c/hive-141964/created). I also participate as a researcher at [Sherlock Communications](https://www.sherlockcomms.com) PR company, and as an advisor at [Kanna](https://www.kannacoin.io) and [Play4Change](https://www.play4change.io/).

During these past years, I've been trying my best to represent Gnars in and out of the water, as a surfer and community member.

When I became full-time in crypto, I was able to have flexible working hours and dedicate myself to my biggest passion: spending time in the ocean surfing barrels and chasing big swells.

I am a partner at [Surfguru](https://www.surfguru.com.br), Brazil's biggest online surfing community and forecast website, with 300k unique users and 2.5M visits per month.

In 2022 we launched [SurfHive](https://www.peakd.com/c/hive-141964/created), a community inspired by [SkateHive](https://peakd.com/c/hive-173115/created), with the goal of bringing more surfers onchain. We have 99 surfers from all over the world producing content regularly there.

I've had a couple of proposals approved at Gnars. Two surfing sponsorships, one travel grant to Indonesia, and two proposals to create educational content through Surfguru. Surfguru currently has an active proposal to [produce educational and onboarding content](https://nouns.build/dao/base/0x880fb3cf5c6cc2d7dfc13a993e839a9411200c17/vote/7). I am collaborating on it, with @crisciacm and @marinioac.

#### Highlights and Reports

To bring transparency and accountability, I started writing sponsorship reports. Last year I approved a [travel grant to Indonesia](https://snapshot.org/#/gnars.eth/proposal/0x30847f96110952ed83c1aa78c09b5cc11ef1076614560efd29de73e8b9b18894). The main deliverable from the Travel Grant proposal is the **IndoGNARS** movie. Content is available on [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtZMgtDQGCI) and you can [mint it on Zora](https://zora.co/collect/base:0x114551be1ebf2896dad20bdb9ee7b59976ea1954/1). 100% of the funds go to the Gnars treasury.

## Travel Grant Proposal:

#### My proposal requests funding for the **IndoGNARS 2** movie.

#### Indonesia is at the top of every surfer's bucket list. It's where the most perfect waves in the world are located. I am going to stay there for 2 months. Here's the project overview:
- **July 29th until August 8th - Boat trip in the Banyak islands** - We will have a videomaker onboard and I am taking a GoPro 12 with me.  
- **August 8th - September 28th: back to Bali and stay committed to the search for perfect waves in places like Desert Point, G-land, Nias, and Mentawai Islands.**
- **Connect with [Thiago Okazuka](https://www.instagram.com/thiago_okazuka_photography/) and [Alan Rangel](https://www.instagram.com/alanrangelfilmes/)**, two gnarly videomakers that are currently in Indonesia, to record the surfing and lifestyle content. 
- **Mint the top 10 waves on Zora during the trip, and have a social media post directing to it (50% of funds go to Gnars)**
- Edit the movie during October
- **Upload the movie exclusively on Gnars Youtube Channel**
- **Launch IndoGNARS 2 in November with a movie premiere in Espírito Santo for 50 people**

#### Content Deliverables:
**We will produce gnarly surfing content during the trip:**

- **1 Surfing movie: IndoGNARS 2, to be released exclusively on Gnars Youtube Channel;**
- **16 social media posts during the trip (2 per week on Instagram)** + lots of Instagram stories showing the trip, behind-the-scenes content, talking about Gnars, equipment, surfing spots... From July 28th until September 28th. 
- Collab Posts on social media will be aligned with Pod Media. **As we're the Red Bull of web3, we need action sports content coming in fresh all the time.** 
- **Top 10 waves/moments of the Movie will be uploaded as NFTs on Zora (50% of minting revenue will go to Gnars)**
- **Record two episodes to the VLOG ["Surfing the web3"](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLa1XuR8fxCbn3IYsqyZAEbn6bSvAWnfe3) at the NXF Slab YouTube Channel.** Lots of content that we record often don't make the final video. I will use it in the VLOG to show the behind the scenes of the surf trip, different waves, gnarly wipeouts, my friends' footage, Indonesian culture, relationship with crypto, and Gnars.

#### Content Distribution 

I will use my partnership with the [Sherlock Communications PR agency](https://sherlockcomms.com/) to promote the content to reach a broader audience, just like we did with **IndoGNARS**. 

PR promotion will happen for the **IndoGNARS 2 movie launch, VLOG Episodes, and movie premiere**. We will have distribution channels that can raise awareness for the content created and ultimately for Gnars.

An example of good PR work is the news of a 4m wave in Baía de Vitória, Espírito Santo - **This wave got heaps of [media coverage](https://www.folhavitoria.com.br/esportes/noticia/05/2024/ondas-gigantes-de-mais-de-4-metros-sao-registradas-na-baia-de-vitoria-surfe) because it was in epic conditions** and had good timing on the press releases.

We edited a [video of this session](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEA3l-tTYvk&t=1s) in the [NXF Slab Vlog](https://www.youtube.com/@nxfslab), which now has 4k views in 1 month, and highlights Gnars everywhere!



#### IndoGNARS 2:  Movie Premiere

When the movie is ready, we will do a Movie Premiere in Espírito Santo, either in Brizz Bar or Aloha Restaurant, for at least 50 people

The 1k will be invested as follows:
$ 200 Gnars merchandise and stickers
$ 150 DJ / Live Music
$ 500 food and drinks
$ 150 after movie

#### **Bonus: Attending Coinfest Asia in Bali**

I've participated in a couple of events and podcasts during the past 6 months, mostly in Brazil and Latin America. My plan is to keep participating in them, but this time in Asia, while on the Surftrip.

**I've applied to speak at the Coinfest Asia 2024, in Bali (22nd and 23rd of August 2024). Hopefully, I'll be selected and we'll be able to represent Gnars in the Conference as a speaker.**

I also connected with Yoddah.eth this week. We will get together and explore ways to nounify Bali during August and September!
