We propose financial support for Data Science Art to build and maintain data infrastructure, tools, and AI products specifically aimed at empowering developers on the Farcaster protocol. These tools will lower barriers for developers by providing comprehensive analytics, extensible AI-driven components, and a robust data infrastructure. Our goal is to enable developers to rapidly innovate, build data-rich applications, and contribute to a growing ecosystem of decentralized social media tools on Farcaster.
Data Science Art has already developed several prototype tools that provide analytics and enhance user interactions on Farcaster:
These tools are built transparently, using Dune Analytics as the data layer, with open-source repositories available for developers to adapt and extend. Documentation is available here.
Currently available and proposed features include:
While there is clear interest in these tools, the main goal is to continue iterating on features to provide a solid foundation for developers building on Farcaster.
Looking forward, we envision building tools that will further empower developers:
We are requesting 2 ETH from Purple to support infrastructure costs over the next 2-3 months. Detailed receipts will be provided to ensure transparency in allocating funds to Dune Analytics and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) costs.
Data Science Art’s tools leverage Dune Analytics to provide a reliable, scalable data infrastructure that’s readily accessible to all developers. By alleviating the need to set up their own complex data layers, developers can focus on creating valuable applications rather than building foundational infrastructure.
By making tools and bot components available in open-source repositories, developers have the freedom to adapt and extend core components to suit their unique application needs. Whether building custom feeds, AI-driven recommendation systems, or interactive data visualizations, these extensible tools lay the groundwork for a rich ecosystem of applications on Farcaster.
The suite of developer-focused tools and infrastructure offered by Data Science Art creates a stable environment for exploring Farcaster’s data and building data-rich applications. This support increases the protocol’s attractiveness as a foundation for decentralized social applications, retaining developers who see Farcaster as a reliable, developer-friendly platform.
As developers build on Data Science Art’s tools, they contribute back to the data layer, enriching Farcaster’s ecosystem. This creates a network effect within the developer community, where insights, strategies, and code are shared openly, fostering a collaborative environment that benefits the entire Farcaster ecosystem.
This proposal is a first step toward integrating these data tools as core assets for Purple DAO. With continued support, Data Science Art envisions the following:
In summary, by supporting Data Science Art, Purple DAO enables Farcaster to attract and retain a vibrant community of developers, creating an ecosystem of high-quality, data-driven applications that advance decentralized social media on the protocol.
This proposal is an investment in making Farcaster a leading platform for developers in decentralized social networking.
