TL;DR
Sopha is an alternative client built for deep connection, high-signal content, and future cultural experiments on Farcaster. We are asking for a 12-month extension of 1 ETH to maintain our core infrastructure and fund small community events while we figure out independent revenue.
What We've Built
Over the last six months, thanks to initial support from Purple, we worked on creating a space that acts like a quiet gallery rather than a loud public square. Farcaster is shifting toward deeper utility and smaller, more intentional rooms, and Sopha is built specifically for that reality.
So far, we have delivered:
- The Client: A custom interface that actively filters out noise and spam, focusing instead on long-form text and deep conversations.
- Primitives: A Miniapp and a Farcaster Snap that keep the curated feed accessible right inside the main network.
- The Pulse of Farcaster: A regular feed curated by @bradq that gives anyone an easy way to keep up with exactly what is happening across the protocol.
- Curation Tools: Simple backend tools that let our community hosts easily find and highlight great conversations.
- Community: Hosted 19 "On the Sopha" community calls, establishing a reliable, high-signal core group.
What's Next
Over the next 12 months, we want to expand Sopha from a quiet reading room into a small culture centre for the network.
- Protocol-Native Channel: We are talking with Neynar about the infra to turn our curated feed into a native Farcaster channel.
- Curator Support: Distributing small rewards to the people doing the daily manual work of finding and sorting the best content.
- Cultural Events: Launching and funding new interactive community sessions-like sketching, improv, and choir- to give high-signal people a place to gather and collaborate.
- Token Experiment: Testing a basic token model to explore community ownership and alternative funding methods.

If this proposal passes, I promise to keep building transparently, keep the bar for content high, and spend the next year focused on finding an independent, self-sustaining revenue model.
Funding Request
We are asking for 1 ETH to cover our exact running costs and event budgets for the next year.

Notes:
Because this payout will be in ETH, we will adjust our actual funding period based on market prices when the proposal passes. At current rates, this total covers roughly 10 months instead of 12.
If our plans change or community events stall, any leftover funds from the event or curator pools will be shifted straight back into keeping the basic server infrastructure running longer.
