TLDR

The first meetups in Latin American cities to bring builders, developers and users to the Farcaster Protocol.

Context

This proposal is based on a conversion with Ccarella at ETHLATAM 2024 Honduras where we shared some ideas to expand Farcaster in Latin America

Farcaster has grown in the web3 community, however, in Latin America this adoption is not seen; some of the comments we hear are:

• I don't see my community there
• I don't understand it completely.
• It's only for devs
• You have to pay to use Warpcast

Problem

Farcaster has not been massively adopted in Latin America

Solution

Host meetups, workshops, content in Spanish, laying the foundations so builders can enter the Farcaster ecosystem

Objectives

• Promote the adoption of Farcaster in LATAM
• Strengthen the alliance that PurpleDAO, Farcaster Protocol, Base and Lil Nouns have with local communities
• Onboard builders to Farcaster and Purple DAO
• Create Farcaster content in Spanish

How?

Six events will be held in Latin American cities, where we will mainly talk about the Farcaster protocol and we will include co-sponsors as:

Farcaster: This talk would give the introductory steps to Farcasster protocol, its clients (Warpcast, Drakula, Tavern, atc..), frames, tipping and the purpleDAO.

Co-Sponsor 1. Lil amigos: The nouns brand and their community, educational/entertaining content in Spanish. How to scale your ideas onchain and make your dreams come true

Co-Sponsor 2. Base: This final talk will be focus in what is Base, the culture and its new onchain economy

We open the possibility of collaborating with local communities, whether they are from the Ethereum ecosystem or a particular event such as Unlock Summit in Puebla, MX.

Why?

We want to raise awareness of the farcaster ecosystem and all its potential. Moreover, give the same opportunities to the community since, in addition to the fact that we are growing, it is a powerhouse in terms of builders and adoption of the network.

It would be ideal to have a hub in LATAM like any other continent has; embracing enthusiasm and welcome people from all over the world to events. With Farcaster we can get closer to this and start holding world-class events such as Hackathons or the Farcon.

Where?

These series of meetups would be held in two seasons. First one would be held during May and June in the following cities:

• CDMX, MX 🇲🇽
• Puebla (Unlock Summit), MX 🇲🇽
• Medellin, CO 🇨🇴
• Tegucigalpa, HN 🇭🇳
• Lima, PE 🇵🇪
• Cuzco, PE 🇵🇪

POAPs and Merch

Merch include T-shirts and stickers made by local artist. Additionally, for every event there would be a Farcaster POAP style & NFTs minted in Farcaster.

Impact

It is expected that as this meetup season passes there will be:

• Greater interaction with Farcaster, its frames and farhouses.
• More Latin American channels open in warpcast. simultaneously the interest in core DAOs.
• Proliferation of Lil nouns and PurpleDAO
• New LATAM builders y devs interacting with in Farcaster.

Deliverables

• Photos, videos, spaces/farhouses in social media
• +50 Warpcast accounts as giveaways (since there are not free in LATAM)
• More followers in warpcast channels (purple, base, lilnouns, plazanouns) getting exposure and engagement.
• POAP collection/NFTs minted in Farcaster

Budget

We asking for 1.2 ETH in total. The funds are going to be fully used for the logistics of the events and the content mention above. The 1.2 ETH will be split in the following way:

• Medellin - 0.2 ETH
• CDMX - 0.15 ETH
• Puebla - 0.2 ETH
• Tegucigalpa - 0.15 ETH
• Lima - 0.15 ETH
• Cuzco - 0.15 ETH
• POAPs - 0.1 ETH
• Content – 0.1 ETH
