This proposal requests a hand off to a new team and a continuation of the Tech Pod Residency role with a refined focus: completing in-progress work, troubleshooting for DAO members, implementing critical feature upgrades, and supporting the DAO’s transition initiatives. Duration: 1 month retroactive and 3 months proactive, anticipated to conclude July 30, 2025, with an option to extend until full DAO transition or regular continuation through a renewal proposal.
The Tech Pod Residency role has been instrumental in maintaining and improving the Builder Protocol. As Builder DAO transitions governance models, there remains a critical need for technical leadership to ensure stability, support DAO members, and implement key features to enhance usability. The dan13ram.eth and benedictvs.eth have temporarily filled this role since the end of March 2025 and intend to fulfil this role until the end of July 2025. This proposal extends the role temporarily to achieve specific milestones vital for DAO operations and member experience, as well as securing the DAO’s return to orderly roadmap-based development cycles.
The Tech Residents will:
Complete all currently in-progress technical initiatives, these are
Escrow Milestones on nouns.builder
Propdates (relevant to Issue 181)
Automated Auction Split (Exposing withdrawal option on the UI and improve documentation)
Provide direct troubleshooting support for DAO members.
48 hour response time on tickets raised
Issues raised through tickets are prioritised
Community support in Discord channels and through threads
Investigate the state of ecosystem tools: NounsConnect, builder-sdk, droposals, e.g. Droposals, Starter Assets
Creation of a report and prioritized roadmap here
Look into options for placing bids from any chain
Maintain weekly office hours and monitor Discord to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Add automatic alerts based on custom metrics to improve issue detection and response time.
Define what alerts are needed
Define metrics, such as during the DAO creation flow
Involve the community to brainstorm needed metrics and alerts, as well as for prioritization
Attend Ops Group and BuilderDAO meetings to stay aligned with operational needs.
Define platform navigation upgrades, as related to DAO creation and engagement workflows, for example:
Step 1 and 2 in DAO creation could be improved
Proposal creation flow was mentioned as a potentially benefiting from a smoother UX
Handle delegated tokens in the subgraph and on nouns.build (Issue #464)
Prioritize the existing backlog with the community and refine the remaining roadmap for the residency, exploring the setting up of a community RFP
Share monthly roadmap/features to be worked on.
According to the prioritized backlog, we will commence agile development cycles for resolving existing and new issues.
This proposal supports Builder DAO’s mission to develop DAO infrastructure as a public good, ensuring ongoing accessibility, robustness, and user experience improvements for decentralized communities. Completing the current backlog and enhancing key features directly benefits the Builder Protocol ecosystem’s long-term viability.
