Builder DAO Community Residents Proposal

Summary

This proposal requests continued funding for Builder DAO Community Residents, Prof Werder and Satori, for April through June. Both residents have actively co-led community efforts, supported Builders and DAOs on the protocol, and ensured smooth operations across Discord, Warpcast, and IRL activations.

Roles & Responsibilities

Prof Werder

• Oversee all community activities and activations
• Launch new grant opportunities using Optimism funds (e.g. contests, Prop House substitutes)
• Promote Builder DAO at IRL events (e.g. ETHDenver, FarCon) and in media (podcasts, spaces)
• Support DAO members with proposal writing and submission
• Assist with Zora protocol transition
• Manage and distribute purple noggles for events and members (message Prof to request)
• Host weekly office hours (Tuesdays, 2 PM ET) in Discord
• Continue 1:1 chats with DAO members
• Manage and record DAO calls (with coverage from Satori or Patti if needed)
• Meet weekly with Patti to align on DAO priorities

Satori

• Primary management of Builder DAO Discord (daily checks, moderation, spam handling)
• Management of the Builder DAO X account (@nounsbuilder)
• Management of the support ticket system
• Respond to community support issues across Discord, Warpcast, Twitter, and DMs
• Promote Builder DAO stories and announcements on Twitter and Warpcast (once OP tokens unlock)
• Create and maintain proposal discussion channels, foster idea generation and DAO conversations
• Publish the Builder Buzz newsletter
• Maintain Notion database with proposal tracking, Builder resources, knowledge base and more

Recent Highlights

Prof Werder

• Held weekly office hours and 1:1 meetings with DAO members
• Continued to engage with the broader Nouns ecosystem around UNA/DUNA learnings
• Featured Builder DAO at ETHDenver and FarCon events, with over 600 purple Builder DAO noggles distributed at 7 different events
• Multiple Q&A/convos with Nouns Builder DAO members and potential members at both ETHDenver and FarCon
• Represented Purple at the Onchain Creator House at FarCon – spoke to attendees about Purple and Nouns Builder
• Purple integrated in CastOut, a Farcaster competition game, and featured a question about Purple in the Farcaster Trivia challenge
• Amplified other DAOs on Nouns Builder such as Purple, Gnars, etc., on GM Farcaster
• Shipped Builder DAO Purple noggles out to 2 DAOs for Bitcoin Pizza Day
• Had multiple conversations/idea sessions for other use cases for Nouns Builder including gamification, auction sales for non-DAO related use cases, and potential collab with PizzaDAO (all ongoing)

Satori

• Managed Discord operations: support, moderation, proposal comms, announcement updates
• Published summaries of the bi-weekly Builder Guild calls in Notion
• Builder Buzz newsletter has been incorporated into this role
• Covered for Prof to lead Builder Guild call
• Began drafting a knowledge base in the Notion with proposal tracking (Preview - Work in progress)
• Gained access to the @nounsbuilder X account to promote governance and community updates

Mission Alignment

Builder DAO’s mission is to build and maintain accessible, open-source DAO infrastructure as a public good. All activities outlined in this proposal help amplify, educate, or operationalize the protocol — aligning directly with this mission.

Funding Request

Over the past few months, Satori has begun taking on more responsibility in the day-to-day Discord management and communication with Nouns Builder users and Builder DAO members. The Builder Buzz newsletter has also been integrated into this role. The funding request for this prop reflects this adjustment.
