WHAT IS MODEL-WIP?

MODEL-WIP is a community project to crowdfund the creation, usage, and collective ownership of a unique generative image model. More specifically, we’re raising funds to commission an artist to produce a body of work, train an image generation model on that work, and monetize the model by making it freely usable within SOURCE.

OUR PROPOSAL

We’re proposing a .5 ETH contribution to the MODEL-WIP crowdfund from ENERGY DAO.

WHY ENERGY BENEFITS

1. ENERGY will earn TITLES protocol fees from a share of model mint fees in perpetuity.
2. This proposal accomplishes ENERGY’s mission of driving artist usage of Zora Network.
3. Expose ENERGY DAO to other contributors outside of it’s current holders.

HOW DOES THE CROWDFUND WORK?

1. Who has contributed already? Existing contributors include Cooper Turley, Jayme Hoffman, LGHT, 0xen, Jonny Mack, and more incredible community members!

2. What happens if the crowdfund goal is not met? 100% of the capital is automatically returned to the contributing wallet.

3. What will ENERGY DAO earn from it’s contribution? ENERGY will earn 6.25% of all model earnings in perpetuity from it’s contribution of .5 ETH to an 8 ETH crowdfund.

4. How does ENERGY earn from model usage? Any time the model is used to produce a new collection, it will receive a portion of the proceeds of the new collection. More specifically, the sampled model receives up to 40% of mint fees and up to 30% of the price if the creator sets one.

5. Has this model ownership in SOURCE made money elsewhere? Yes, Zora’s Zorb model has earned nearly an 1 ETH from it’s split of protocol fees.

6. What does an ENERGY DAO contribution receive? ENERGY will receive 1 voting share for MODEL-WIP along with earnings equal to it’s pro-rata contribution.

7. How will the group decide on an artist? The group will collectively source, engage, and vote on the artist we’ll commission.
